Happy New Year!

Well, I am back in Alaska and ready to rock 2014! Usually, I have a ton of goals for the New Year. This year, mine are smile more and just trust the Lord. He has the best plan for me and He`s got my back. So it`s time to just enjoy life and put it all in His hands. God bless y`all this new year.

The Apostle Peter wrote that disciples of Jesus Christ are to have “compassion one of another.”¹ In that spirit I wish to speak to those who suffer from some form of mental illness or emotional disorder, whether those afflictions be slight or severe, of brief duration or persistent over a lifetime. We sense the complexity of such matters when we hear professionals speak of neuroses and psychoses, of genetic predispositions and chromosome defects, of bipolarity, paranoia, and schizophrenia. However bewildering this all may be, these afflictions are some of the realities of mortal life, and there should be no more shame in acknowledging them than in acknowledging a battle with high blood pressure or the sudden appearance of a malignant tumor.

Okay, ever since hearing Elder Holland`s talk about depresión in General Conference, I have really wanted to write this post. Before I start, I am going to mention very personal thoughts, feelings, And experiences. I do not write to be judged or criticized. I am not a psycho and I am not suicidal. And if I misspell words, it is because I am used to writing in Spanish. Experiencing depression in ANY form does NOT in any way make someone weak, horrible, a sinner, or that their testimony is any less. I realize that I still have much to work on, that the battle is never over, but I want to talk about how my knowledge of the Gospel And Atonement of Jesus Christ have helped me in my battle with depresión.

God's Love (Eternal Worth)

What is a woman's role?
Where does her heart lie?
How does she love everyone?
How can she accomplish all that she does?
Who does she have
working on her side?

The Father loves woman.
The Father knows her roles.
He watches over woman,
Helps her towards her goals.
He shares her tears, her sorrows.
He feels her joy.
He knows her heart.
Through Him she conquers fears.
He offers guide and counsel-
Gives her a companion through man.

How do women fight through trials?
How do women make new friends?
Where do women find their strength?
Who do women turn to-
in their time of need?

God is gracious.
God is love.
God made woman-
using mounds of love.
God knew that woman's love and virtue
would lead the world-
lead His children back to Him.
God knew woman's hearts would break.
God knew of woman's love.
God knew they would need someone-
someone to turn to-
someone who knew.

How do women smile through tears?
How do women love everyone-
even when their hearts are broken?
Why does God let women suffer?
Does He not know their worth?

He does know!
He knows their feelings.
He loves them-
and He wants them to see-
their ETERNAL worth.
He sends angels
to watch them, to love them.
The little children on their knees.
He sends man-
to love and protect woman-
to work together.

He sent Christ
to take all our sins.
To help us on our way.
Christ knows our worst-
He knows our best.
Christ knows what you go through.
Turn to Him-
He's waiting.
The Father and the Son
wait with open arms.

How do women show love?
How do women help others grow?
Why do women not see their potential?
How can we help them to know?

Love as God does.
As Christ did on this earth.
Be a disciple,
show EVERYONE their worth.
Live and serve-
to help others.
Love as Christ showed-
so they can know their worth.
